As Certified Infant Massage Teacher (CIMT), Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI) and Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist (CPMT), trained in Touch Therapy for Children with ASD/Autism, Michelle is now also a DONA-Trained Birth Doula. Michelle brings unique ideas, perspectives and skills to her latest venture and natural progression, LumiĂ¨re de bĂ©bĂ©.
As a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Assistant with the Alberta Childrenâ€™s Hospital, Michelle has been working in the health care and educational fields since 1990.Â LumiĂ¨re de bĂ©bĂ© was started by Michelle in order to educate and train parents in the benefit and art of infant and pediatric massage and now offers the additional support as a Birth Doula.Â Research has shown that touch is essential in order for children to thrive and develop and families who are supported by a birth doula have healthier babies and with shorter stays in hospitals.
Michelle would love to meet with you to discuss your birth needs and work on a customized plan to provide the most comfortable and positive birth experience for both you, your partner and family.

Michelleâ€™s interests are wide and varied.Â HerÂ love of children, families and animals is also shown through her other passions of photography and travel. Such passions have been shown through her work abroad with Plan International/UK and locally in Calgary, Alberta with ARF, Calgary Humane Society, MEOW foundation and Tibetan Orphanage fundraising. Â Michelle believes that everyone needs a voice andÂ believes in speaking up for those who cannot.Â This belief has taken Michelle to places as far away as Nepal, volunteering her skills with a young girl with autism to Thailand where she volunteered her time and photography to Plan International/UK.
